24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth.
25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:
26 For the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof.
30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
11: 1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
Guarding against jealousy and coveting: 24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth. If your friend wins the lottery and you’re having a hard time paying your rent or mortgage, don’t mind the money the friend has gotten – you have no idea what worrying debts he may have been carrying. Rejoice that you know someone who has been so blessed and the difference it will make in his life.
31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. We’ve talked along these lines before – whatever you do, make it the best you can make it knowing that God sees all and understands all.
These are such simple lessons and still we have trouble carrying them out. We recognize the goodness in the lessons but still find it hard to make them part of our daily life. It makes me laugh – we are so blessed to have a ‘long suffering’ God, (chuckles) because we surely do test Him.
