SEVENTH STATION
Jesus falls for the second time
V. We adore thee, O Christ, and we bless thee:
R. Because by thy holy Cross thou hast redeemed the world.
[Isaiah 53.3-6]
3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
REFLECTION
The greater number of Christians live unmindful of all that Jesus, our Life, has done and suffered. That is why they live on, sleeping in the night of iniquity. (St. Paul of the Cross)
All: Holy God, Holy and Mighty, Holy Immortal One, Have mercy upon us.
LET US PRAY
O Lord Jesus Christ, who by thy death didst take away the sting of death: Grant unto us thy servants so to follow in faith where thou hast led the way, that we may at length fall asleep peacefully in thee, and awake up after thy likeness; for thy tender mercies’ sake. Amen.
V. O Savior of the world, who by thy Cross and Precious Blood hast redeemed us:
R. Save us and help us, we humbly beseech thee, O Lord.
Thank you for reminding us of the stations of the cross. Not many people actually attended these services even 10 years ago. Many churches have stopped altogether.

Sad, isn’t it? Stations brings such focus to the act of ultimate love accomplished on that cross. As sad as it is, it’s something I look forward to every year.
