“Verily I say unto thee, to day shalt thou be with me in paradise.“
We understand, as best we can, the emotional and physical punishment Jesus suffered both before He was nailed to the cross and after. The crowd is around, shouting insults at Him, military orders being shouted to Roman soldiers. What a din it must have been.
In indescribable pain, amidst the noise from the crowd, from the military, Jesus hears this plea; “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.” My chest tightens and my eyes sting and I say with the thief – Lord remember me …
