2As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
3If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
4To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
“9But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” “… a peculiar people” appeals to my sense of humor; we’re peculiar, alright. Ok – the Foot steps we’re to follow are huge and deep; not meant to trip us up but to show the importance of the path. Of course we’re going to have difficulty and sometimes trip into the Foot print. But the One whose steps we follow knows full well we can’t follow perfectly and loves us anyway. Toddlers just taking those first unsure steps, holding on to tables or chairs are so endearing to our hearts and we, ever toddling toward the Highest, are looked upon with the same love, the same understanding, the same cheering we extend to little children. Because we are little children. “Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 19-14
