from Whom all blessings flow. I missed you during my banishment from the blog – as well as banishment from other computer functions. Sigh. I’ve come to the conclusion that computers are like cars and husbands; can’t live with ’em and can’t live without ’em.
My computer guru, my guy with the golden wand, my son-in-law came to the house yesterday afternoon and did whatever it is he does that either scares the computer into obedience or beats it into submission. We have yet to discover the ‘why’ but he’s an ace at ‘do it now!’
While I admit I am entirely too dependent on this piece of technology (I’m on the computer from after Morning Prayer til after Evening Prayer – my computer gets as tired as I do, evidently). But it’s where I can talk with you; it’s where I can do research; it’s where I can find out what is happening in the world at large and in town, it is the pulse upon which I can keep my finger.
But it is not my god – it is merely a helpful tool and I appreciate it as such. My God is our God – Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; one God. The prayers get done. The praises and thanksgivings get done. The supplications and intercessions get done. Regardless of the computer and its readiness – or lack thereof – God comes first and is my first thought in the morning and my last thought at night. I owe Him everything – mind, heart, soul, and spirit.
We can argue that I’m too dependent on the computer but it cannot in any way, shape, or form, compare to my dependence on Him – for everything.
