The times …

That try men’s souls. Whether you are Independent, Republican, or Democrat there doesn’t seem to be anyone happy right now. There seems to be a general malaise hanging over the country and it feels like it’s seeping into our very bones. Our hearts.

Let’s take a look at a few things:

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. (Psalm 24:7)

In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. … These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. (John 6:33)

Be still and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10)

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee … (Deuteronomy 31:6)

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: …” (Proverbs 17:22)

“… if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and …” (2Chronicles 7:14)

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,” (Hebrews 12:1)

Deep breaths, everyone. Decompress. We are not alone.

“”without faith it is impossible to please God“.” (Hebrews 11:6). But we DO believe! Aren’t we more than the sparrow? Lay your head down. Lay your worry and depression down. Lay your fear down. Rest in His arms.
